Security
The ISPS Code is a comprehensive security regime that seeks to establish an international framework of cooperation between governments, government agencies, and the shipping and port industries in order to detect and take preventive measures against security incidents affecting ships or port facilities used in international trade. The Mulgrave Marine Terminal is considered a Part 3 marine facility under Canada’s Marine Transportation Security Regulations and is therefore, compliant with the security act and regulations. The Port Hawkesbury Pier is classified as an occasional use marine facility.
During secure interfaces at the facilities, all persons seeking access must:
- Have valid business at the marine facility
- Provide photo, government-issued identification
- Be issued a temporary security pass or possess a security access card for the facility. The security pass/card must be displayed at all times while on the marine facility. However, be cautious of any safety issues related to wearing the pass, as safety is the number one priority.
- All persons conducting business on the marine facility are asked to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the security guards on duty or the Operations Supervisor.
